This coming Memorial Day Weekend, the Glee Club Associates would like to invite you to join the 150th Anniversary Alumni Tour to celebrate 150 years of the WPI Glee Club! Join us in singing your favorite music selections from years past and present as we mark this momentous occasion.
We will kick off the tour with a group dinner in Boston on Friday, May 24th. The next day we will rehearse in the morning followed by an impromptu performance at Boston Common (weather permitting). Afterwards, please join us for Boston’s famous Duck Tour! The concert itself will be Sunday, May 26th at 3PM at Church of the Covenant in Boston. We will gather beforehand to rehearse at the church.
Finally, we will end our tour on Monday, May 27th by traveling to Worcester to perform a final concert at the First Unitarian Church of Worcester, followed by a farewell dinner send-off at O’Connor’s (with plenty of singing of course).
We also plan on sending several suggestions for self-organized events to do throughout the weekend in smaller groups (Pub crawl, Karaoke night, Escape room, etc).
The cost for attending and singing with us will be $200, split between a $50 deposit prior to Choral Alumni Weekend and the remaining $150 when you join us in Boston. This will help cover venue costs, group activities, and the welcome/farewell meals. All members of the Glee Club Associates, including Glee Club alumni, recent graduates, and conductors, are welcome to attend and participate, and any members of the wider WPI choral community are welcome to join, although the music will be primarily TTBB.
We will be self-organizing both transport and lodging, so those are on your own. If you need help finding a place to stay or a way to get there, please reach out and we would be more than happy to help advise.
